KENT did not begin with a single insight, but two very clear realizations that exposed a major gap in the market.
The first came from Stacy’s work in sustainable fashion.
Even brands positioned as eco friendly were still relying on synthetic fibers made from petrochemicals.
These materials are harmful to the planet, questionable for bodily health, and nearly impossible to break down once discarded.
The second moment was personal.
While trying to get pregnant, Stacy’s husband was advised by his doctor to wear loose fitting, 100 percent cotton briefs.
When they went looking for options, they found nothing that felt well made, thoughtfully designed, or truly natural.
Rather than compromise, they built what they could not find.
KENT was created to design plastic out of underwear entirely, while still delivering comfort, performance, and timeless design.

One of the most important insights behind KENT is where fashion’s damage actually occurs.
Nearly 75 percent of the negative environmental impact in fashion happens at the raw materials stage. Fiber choices affect water use, chemical exposure, washing behavior, and what happens when a garment reaches the end of its life.
In response, KENT created its own Super Natural Materials Standards.
These standards evaluate every material against strict social and environmental criteria before it is approved for use.
Only materials that are 100 percent natural, plant based, and organic make the cut, and only if they have the potential to return to nature as a resource.
Most underwear brands, even those using organic cotton, still rely on synthetic blends like spandex or polyester.
Those materials can sit in landfills for up to 200 years.
KENT refuses to accept that tradeoff.
