The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has made a new appointment, naming Kieron Boyle as the new Director of the 100x Impact Accelerator.

This social impact accelerator, based at LSE’s Marshall Institute, is a £55 million global initiative designed to support impact-first ventures aiming to become 'social unicorns' with the potential to drive impact on a massive scale.

A New Era for 100x Impact Accelerator

Since its inception in 2022, the 100x Impact Accelerator has focused on identifying and nurturing ventures that can deliver substantial social impact.

With a diverse portfolio spanning multiple sectors, the accelerator has already supported two cohorts of social ventures.

Remarkably, over two-thirds of these ventures operate in emerging economies, home to the majority of the world’s population.

Kieron Boyle, a leader in the field of social impact, brings extensive experience from various sectors, including business, government, and civil society.

Currently, he serves as the CEO of the Impact Investment Institute, the UK's national body for impact investing.

His previous roles include CEO of Guy's and St Thomas Foundation and leadership positions within the UK government and other influential organizations.

Kieron Boyle’s Vision for 100x

Boyle’s career is marked by a commitment to driving systemic change and fostering innovation in social impact. He has founded several key initiatives, such as Impact on Urban Health and Better Society Capital, and played a pivotal role in introducing 'Giving Tuesday' and the B Corp movement to the UK.

His extensive network and expertise will be invaluable as he leads 100x Impact Accelerator into its next phase.

“I am thrilled to join 100x. Our mission to help visionary entrepreneurs improve the lives of billions of people is incredibly exciting. Powered by LSE’s world-class platform for social science, we can share insights for systemic effect. I look forward to leveraging my experiences from across the impact economy as we scale our work globally.” - Kieron Boyle

Leadership Endorsements and Future Plans

Professor Stephan Chambers, Director of the Marshall Institute, praised Boyle’s appointment, highlighting his exceptional track record and ability to drive tangible positive social change across sectors.

LSE President and Vice Chancellor, Professor Larry Kramer, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of providing social ventures with top-tier financial, intellectual, and network support through 100x.

The accelerator supports its cohorts with £150,000 of catalytic funding and a 12-week hybrid program, connecting ventures to a network of mentors, connectors, and funders.

Since its launch, over 2,000 ventures from more than 100 countries have applied, addressing critical issues from healthcare access to financial inclusion.

Looking Ahead

Kieron is set to begin his new role in October 2024, poised to lead the 100x Impact Accelerator into a new era of growth and global influence.
