Endera builds electric shuttle buses in Ohio, designed for short, repeated routes such as airport loops, university campuses, paratransit, and smaller public transit systems.
Founder John Walsh launched the company in late 2018 and incorporated it in 2019. Endera manufactures both the vehicle body and electric powertrain at its roughly 250,000-square-foot Ohio facility, which the company took over in 2021. Domestic manufacturing also helps its buses meet Buy America requirements for many publicly funded transit projects.
Endera buses are already operating with public transit agencies. In 2026, the company announced deliveries to Redwood Coast Transit and Mendocino Transit Authority in California. Trade publications also reported that Endera raised approximately $49 million in 2025, although the company has not published a confirmed lifetime funding total.
Endera's impact model is straightforward: replace diesel shuttle buses with zero-emission electric vehicles on routes that operate repeatedly throughout the day.
This can reduce tailpipe emissions in places where passengers frequently board and wait, while giving smaller transit agencies access to domestically manufactured electric buses.
Endera has not published fleet-wide emissions reductions or total electric miles driven, so its impact is best measured through vehicle deployments and the diesel routes those buses replace.
