About Daniel

Meet Daniel Kleinman, the Founder and CEO of Seaworthy Collective and a skilled marine roboticist. Daniel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Professional Science degree in Exploration Science from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.

During his undergraduate studies, Daniel interned at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where he honed his design and systems thinking skills as a University Innovation Fellow.

After graduation in 2015, he worked as a pilot and test engineer for Bluefin Robotics’ unmanned underwater vehicles in Boston before transitioning to become a Navy contractor and mechanical engineer in maritime systems in San Diego.

In 2020, Daniel founded Seaworthy Collective in Miami to connect with like-minded impact changemakers and tackle some of the ocean’s most pressing issues.

He and his team established the Seaworthy Foundation, which provides support to their community through programs like the Sea Change Maker Series and Venture Studio.

Aside from his work with Seaworthy Collective, Daniel serves as an advisor for Opportunity Miami and The Shrimp Society.

He is also a steering committee member for Ocean Visions’ Global Ecosystem for Ocean Solutions, a member of The Explorers Club, a Miami Global Shaper, and an On Deck Catalyst Founding Fellow.

Daniel has received numerous accolades for his work, including recognition as one of Miami’s Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goal 14, a 30 Under 30 by the University of Miami, and a Future Climate Leader by the Aspen Institute.
