Directory methodology
Last updated: August 24, 2026. This page explains how directory profiles are sourced and when they are eligible for search indexing.
What the directory covers
Causeartist indexes impact-driven companies, social enterprises, and capital providers alongside original journalism. Profiles are editorial records, not paid placements. Inclusion does not mean endorsement.
How profiles are created
Company and funder pages are assembled from:
- Public websites, filings, and press materials
- Founder or staff submissions and claimed-profile updates
- Causeartist interviews, podcasts, and case studies linked from the profile
We publish a profile when it has a clear name, a public URL or equivalent source, and enough mission context for a reader to understand what the organization does.
Indexation rules
Unpublished or incomplete profiles are held out of search. Facet archives (for example sector hubs) are indexed only when they have unique introductory copy and enough published entities. Thin intersections stay noindex, follow.
Updates and claims
Claimed profiles can be updated by verified owners. Editorial staff may still edit public facts for accuracy. To request a change, use the contact form or the claim flow on the profile.
