Marble Health, a youth mental health company reimagining how students access care, has raised $15.5 million in Series A funding to expand its school-based mental health programs nationwide.

The round was led by Costanoa Ventures with participation from Town Hall Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

The new funding will enable Marble to grow its partnerships with schools across the U.S., expand its team, and further develop its technology designed to close the growing gap in teen mental health care.

Addressing a Growing Youth Mental Health Crisis

The mental health challenges facing teens in America have reached alarming levels. According to the CDC, nearly one in ten teens(9.5%) attempted suicide in the past year, and rates of anxiety, depression, and social isolation continue to climb.

Yet for many families, access to care remains out of reach, especially those relying on Medicaid, where therapy waitlists can stretch for months.

School counselors often serve as the first point of support, but with an average caseload of 385 students, they are stretched far too thin to meet demand.

Marble Health was built to change that.

Founded by Jake Sussman and Dan Ross, the former co-founders of Headway, the largest adult mental health provider in the U.S.

Marble partners directly with schools to identify students in need and connect them quickly with licensed therapists.

Since launching in New York last year, Marble has facilitated more than 15,000 therapy sessions for children and families who otherwise might not have received care.

“Kids shouldn’t have to wait for help, and schools shouldn’t have to go it alone,” said Jake Sussman, CEO of Marble. “We built Marble to close that gap and make sure every student has access to timely, evidence-based care.”

How Marble Works

Marble’s approach is unique because it integrates mental health support directly within schools and partners with both Medicaid and commercial payers to cover costs.

Schools do not pay for Marble’s services, removing a major financial barrier to care.

The company’s platform enables seamless collaboration between school counselors, parents, and therapists, allowing all stakeholders to share insights and track progress in real time.

Marble also empowers clinicians with tools that simplify administrative work—like an AI-powered scribe and a custom electronic health record (EHR) designed to streamline Medicaid billing.

This makes it easier for therapists to participate in public insurance programs, expanding the pool of available providers for students who rely on Medicaid.

Additionally, Marble’s group therapy programs increase the number of students therapists can support at once, while maintaining a high standard of care and engagement.

Why It Matters

By embedding within schools and leveraging technology, Marble is addressing one of the most urgent challenges in the American education and healthcare systems: equitable access to youth mental health care.

Amy Cheetham, Partner at Costanoa Ventures, noted that Marble’s approach stood out because it removes financial barriers for schools.

“Most schools want to support their students’ mental health, but they’re stretched thin,” she said. “What stood out about Marble is that they’ve built a model where schools don’t have to pay a dime—and still get high-quality, timely care for their students.”

Building the Future of Youth Mental Health

As Marble expands nationwide, the company is also developing a powerful data infrastructure that brings together insights from therapists, schools, and families. Over time, this data will help refine clinical models, personalize care, and improve outcomes for millions of students.

Marble Health’s mission goes beyond connecting students with therapists. It’s building the foundation for a new national mental health system—one where every child, no matter their ZIP code or insurance type, can access the support they deserve.
