Wavemaker Impact is Southeast Asia's climate-tech venture builder, co-founding startups with proven entrepreneurs to cut emissions at regional scale. Launched in 2021 as part of the Wavemaker Partners platform and led by founding partner Marie Cheong, the firm targets the region's largest emission sources in agriculture, energy, industry, built environment, and transport, with a long-term goal of helping reduce 10% of the global carbon budget by 2035.
Every Wavemaker Impact company is built as a '100×100' venture: potential to abate 100 million metric tons of CO₂e per year and reach $100M in high-margin revenue. The team runs a multi-month validation process with experienced founders before co-building and investing, then follows on through Seed, Series A, and toward Series B.
Its $60M debut fund closed at hard cap in 2023 with LPs including DFC, British International Investment, Triple Jump, JG Summit, and Qarlbo Energy, portfolio includes Rize (sustainable rice), Agros, WasteX, Helios, and others across Southeast Asia.
