Its commercial portfolio has included cocoa-free chocolate, bean-free coffee, and peanut-free spreads, with products designed to work in familiar manufacturing and consumer formats.
The company’s cocoa-free chocolate uses ingredients including grape seeds, sunflower protein, and vegetable fats to recreate chocolate’s flavor and functionality without cocoa beans. Voyage has sold consumer products directly and has developed business-to-business ingredients for manufacturers. In 2024 it opened a 284,000-square-foot Ohio manufacturing facility that the company said could produce 10,000 metric tons annually, a capacity figure rather than confirmed output.
Voyage positions its technology as supply-chain resilience for foods exposed to climate stress, price volatility, labor risks, and concentrated production. Its products are foods, not FDA-approved treatments. The company has cited a self-determined GRAS conclusion for grape-seed flour and published commissioned lifecycle assessments, but ingredient status, allergen labeling, nutritional composition, and permitted claims remain product- and market-specific.

Scaling an alternative can create its own land, water, and processing impacts. Public sources do not disclose enough shipped tonnage to convert per-kilogram estimates into verified company-wide savings.
Voyage’s commissioned cocoa-free chocolate assessment reports approximately 84% lower greenhouse-gas emissions, 99% lower water use, and 97% lower land use than its selected conventional chocolate benchmark. Its bean-free coffee assessment reports roughly 40% lower emissions and 94% lower water use than the selected coffee benchmark. These are modeled product comparisons, not independently audited reductions from market displacement.
The company announced a 284,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Mason, Ohio, with stated annual capacity of 10,000 metric tons. Capacity is not production, sales, or cocoa displaced. Voyage’s retail and business-to-business launches establish commercialization, but current customer volumes and utilization have not been publicly verified.
Voyage announced a $36 million Series A in 2022. Later financing and strategic support have been reported, but public disclosures do not provide a clean, consistently denominated total, so the profile does not sum estimates from private-company databases. The company’s sustainability percentages should likewise remain attributed to its LCAs rather than presented as measured corporate impact.
