Lemontree

Lemontree is a food-access nonprofit that connects people facing hunger with nearby pantries, soup kitchens, and SNAP resources through a tech-enabled helpline. Co-founded by Alex Godin and Kasumi Quinlan, the organization grew from a local New York City effort into a multi-city platform after discovering that most food-insecure households never access free food already available in their own neighborhoods, not because food is scarce, but because finding reliable help is hard.

Neighbors sign up in minutes via text, WhatsApp, or the web, then receive personalized recommendations backed by tens of thousands of real user reviews about what to expect at each location. Lemontree also partners with pantries and community organizations to keep hours and offerings current, helping families plan trips with dignity while strengthening the local food safety net across cities including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and more.
